Pilates is a body conditioning method constructed by the incredibly forward thinking Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s and focuses on core strength along with spinal, pelvic and scapular stability. Exploring range of movement, maintaining and improving what is available. The method emphasises efficient movement patterns and postural alignment. The Pilates method has always and continues to evolve, adapting to incorporate current research and understanding of the human body, just as Joseph himself adapted movement and created equipment to provide assistance as well as resistance to his repertoire, further enhancing the effectiveness of his method.
“The Pilates method teaches you how to be in control of your body and not at it’s mercy”
